Best Dialers for Salesforce Sales Teams in 2026

TL;DR

  • Shortlist Nooks and Orum when parallel or power-dialling productivity is the central sales requirement.
  • Shortlist Dialpad when the organisation also wants a wider communications platform and Salesforce-embedded calling.
  • Test the actual Salesforce package: objects, field mappings, task logging, owner attribution and permission sets matter more than an integration logo.
  • Salesforce Open CTI is now in maintenance mode with retirement scheduled for 28 February 2028. Ask every vendor about its supported architecture and migration plan.

Quick comparison

Dialer Strongest fit Salesforce question to resolve
Nooks Outbound teams combining dialling with rep workflow and coaching Which records form lists and which outcomes write back?
Orum Sales teams prioritising high-volume live-conversation workflows How are calls, dispositions and ownership represented in Salesforce?
Dialpad Organisations combining sales dialling with wider business communications Which licence, managed package and app configuration enable the required power dialer?

All three require a practical test in your Salesforce organisation. Custom objects, validation rules, duplicate contacts and permissions can change integration behaviour.

The Salesforce integration has become an architecture decision

Salesforce Open CTI historically allowed third-party softphones inside the browser. Salesforce now documents Open CTI as in maintenance mode and scheduled for retirement on 28 February 2028, while directing customers towards Salesforce Voice for longer-term compatibility.

This does not mean every sales-dialer implementation stops immediately. It means a new purchase should include the vendor's supported architecture, current package dependencies and plan for the retirement. Get that answer in writing.

Ask whether the dialer operates in Lightning, requires a managed package or desktop app, and depends on particular Salesforce editions or support arrangements. The answer affects implementation and future work, not merely user experience.

Nooks: best for an outbound rep workspace

Nooks combines sales dialling with a broader outbound workspace, including research and coaching capabilities. It is a strong shortlist candidate when the sales team wants calling productivity and rep assistance together.

For Salesforce, focus the demonstration on record flow. Show how an administrator defines a list, how contacts and leads are handled, what appears on the rep's screen and which call outcome is written back.

Pricing: Nooks is sold through a commercial proposal. Request seats, included dialling or AI capabilities, implementation and Salesforce integration scope as separate line items where possible.

Tradeoff: a broader rep platform can overlap with sales engagement and coaching tools already in the stack. Identify the subscriptions and manual steps it would actually replace.

Orum: best for live-conversation productivity

Orum is known for sales-dialling workflows designed to help reps reach more live conversations. It belongs on the shortlist when call execution is the main bottleneck and Salesforce is the commercial record.

Test lead and contact selection, time-zone and owner controls, disposition mapping and what happens when the number belongs to several records. Inspect how a rep resumes work after an interruption.

Pricing: obtain a quote for the users, dialling configuration, coaching or analytics and integration required.

Tradeoff: more calls increase the cost of weak records. Phone normalisation, ownership and suppression rules should be ready before the platform accelerates activity.

Dialpad: best for a wider communications purchase

Dialpad offers Salesforce integration and power-dialler functions within its communications product family. Its documentation states that administrators configure the package and assign users to the relevant contact-centre or licence context.

This is attractive when sales, support and general business calling are stakeholders in one phone decision. It can also create a larger implementation than a sales team alone needs.

Pricing: compare the Dialpad licence that enables the required Salesforce power-dialling workflow, plus numbers, usage and any advanced AI or analytics features.

Tradeoff: confirm where call records, recordings, summaries and messages live. Sync only the artefacts that help the Salesforce user; an overloaded activity timeline is not a better integration.

Objects, matching and task logging

Decide whether the team calls Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities or custom objects. A dialer that works perfectly from a Contact list may not support a territory process built around a custom prospect object.

For each call, specify the Salesforce activity fields: owner, related person, related account or opportunity, start time, duration, direction, number, disposition and recording link where appropriate. Keep dispositions few enough to report consistently.

Test duplicates and shared company numbers. The integration needs a deterministic match or a rep choice. A wrong activity attached quickly is worse than a correct activity logged with one extra step.

Check validation rules and automations in a sandbox or controlled group. A newly required field can cause writeback failures even when the dialer is working as designed.

Admin controls and rollout

Use permission sets and dialler roles to limit configuration, exports and access to recordings. Sales managers may need reporting without the ability to change Salesforce mappings.

Begin with one team and a representative list. Review writeback daily during the pilot, including calls that failed, were transferred or connected to the wrong person. Fix data and mapping before adding more users.

Document the recovery path for an unavailable package, disconnected user or changed Salesforce permission. Also record the owner of the Open CTI or Salesforce Voice migration question so it does not become a surprise near retirement.

FAQ: Salesforce dialers

Does Open CTI retirement mean our dialer stops now?

No. Salesforce lists retirement for 28 February 2028. Ask the vendor how your current or proposed integration is affected and what migration it supports.

Should call activities be Tasks?

Use the structure supported by the integration and your reporting model. Make the required fields and relationships explicit before rollout.

Which tool is best for custom objects?

There is no universal answer. Demonstrate the exact custom object, list creation and writeback required in your org.

Can a dialer fix duplicate records?

No. It may apply matching rules, but the CRM data and merge policy remain your responsibility.

What should a pilot measure?

Correct list population, live conversations, activity attribution, disposition quality, writeback failures and rep recovery time.

Call handling also needs a review process. Our guide to conversation intelligence tools covers the adjacent options.
