TL;DR
This is about activating intent inside HubSpot specifically: which tools write to HubSpot objects, how they map, and what the total platform dependency costs. Our generic intent roundup covers the category without the HubSpot constraint. Best for: revenue teams running HubSpot as the system of record.
HubSpot's own buyer intent and Breeze Intelligence are the cheapest starting point because they need no integration, but they run on HubSpot Credits, where tracking a company is a recurring charge and adding a net new company is a one time charge. Best for: teams that want intent inside the CRM with no second vendor.
Bombora Company Surge is a native HubSpot integration and the underlying data source for much of the category, including resale inside 6sense. Best for: teams that want topic level research signal feeding HubSpot lists.
6sense is a HubSpot Essential App for Marketers with roughly a thousand installs, but Sales Intelligence inside HubSpot requires the Predictive package and setup uses two HubSpot apps. Best for: larger teams that need predictive buying stage on top of raw signal.
Pricing basis: 6sense. Request a scoped proposal for sales intelligence, predictive features, activation and implementation. A narrow sales workflow and a full ABM deployment are different purchases.

What activation inside HubSpot actually requires
Most intent tooling can produce a list of accounts showing interest. Very few can put that signal where a HubSpot workflow can act on it, and that gap is where intent programmes die.
Four things have to be true for activation to work. The signal has to land on a HubSpot object, normally the company record, as a property a workflow can read. The account matching has to be reliable, because a signal that lands on a duplicate company or fails to match is invisible. A workflow has to be able to fire on the signal, whether that means task creation, owner assignment, list membership or a sequence enrolment. And someone has to own the definition of what score or stage justifies action.
If a vendor gives you a dashboard but not a property, you have bought reporting rather than activation. The four tools below are assessed on that basis.
1. HubSpot buyer intent and Breeze Intelligence
Layer: intent and enrichment native to the CRM, billed through HubSpot Credits
Best for: teams that want intent activated inside HubSpot with zero integration work and no second vendor contract.
HubSpot now sells intent as a first party capability, and the mechanics are worth understanding precisely because they are unusual.
Buyer intent features run on HubSpot Credits. Per HubSpot's own product documentation, tracking a company for intent signals is a monthly recurring credit charge, while adding a net new company to the CRM from the Visitors or Research tab is a one time credit charge. Credit rates are published in the HubSpot Product and Services Catalog. Credits are included in paid subscriptions, with additional capacity available as packs, and every Pro and Enterprise seat based Hub subscription includes a monthly credit package.
The signal surfaces as an intelligence view on each company record, covering fit, website visit activity, research behaviour and data hygiene, framed around total addressable market. Because it sits on the company object natively, activation is immediate: no mapping, no sync interval, no duplicate risk introduced by a connector.
Breeze Intelligence handles the enrichment side. It is the rebranded Clearbit, offering more than 40 enrichment attributes spanning firmographics such as company size and revenue through to contact details such as job titles, and it can enrich automatically as new contacts enter the database. HubSpot has stated it processes tens of millions of enrichments weekly and reported improved match rates in a March 2026 community update.
Pricing: credit based rather than a licence. Credits are included with paid subscriptions and expandable via capacity packs, with rates in the Product and Services Catalog. For most teams this is an order of magnitude cheaper than a dedicated intent platform.
Where it falls short: the credit model makes cost proportional to how many companies you track, which is the opposite of the flat platform fee teams are used to budgeting. Tracking a large target list is a recurring charge that grows with ambition. The standalone Clearbit API experience is also gone, so teams that built against it have had to migrate. And the depth of topic level research signal does not match a dedicated data co-op: HubSpot tells you a company is researching, not which of twenty thousand topics they are researching.
Verdict: the correct first move for almost every HubSpot team. Start here, quantify what it misses, then buy a specialist tool against that specific gap.
2. Bombora Company Surge
Layer: topic level intent data from a publisher co-op, with a native HubSpot integration
Best for: teams that need to know which topics an account is researching, and to build HubSpot lists from it.
Bombora is the underlying data source for a large part of this category, which makes it the most consequential entry here even for teams who never buy it directly. It operates a data co-op spanning more than 20,100 topics across more than 5,500 publisher sites, with weekly Surge refresh as standard.
For HubSpot teams the important fact is that Bombora publishes a native HubSpot integration, positioned for building data driven target account lists. Signals arrive as topic level surge data against accounts, which is the granularity that makes messaging specific rather than generic.
It is also resold widely. 6sense resells Bombora topics to all platform customers as part of subscription, configured under integrations, and Bombora powered resale partners include Terminus on its Scale and Complete packages and Integrate. If you are evaluating several vendors, check whether you are being quoted the same Bombora data twice.
Pricing basis: Bombora. Scope account coverage, topics, delivery destination and refresh cadence. Include the contact-data and activation tools used alongside the signal feed.
For Bombora inside HubSpot, confirm signal delivery, account matching and workflow prerequisites. Include any integration work and contact data needed for activation.
Verdict: the reference data source for topic level intent, with a native HubSpot path. Buy it when you have proven that topic granularity changes your conversion, not before.
3. 6sense
Layer: predictive intent and buying stage on top of aggregated signal
Best for: larger HubSpot teams that need a predictive stage model rather than raw signal.
6sense is listed in the HubSpot marketplace under Account Based Marketing as a HubSpot Essential App for Marketers, with roughly a thousand installs. It connects to Marketing Hub, syncs HubSpot marketing automation data into 6sense, and layers intent and predictive buying stage insight onto accounts that already exist in HubSpot. Setup uses two HubSpot apps.
The data breadth is the argument for it. Alongside its own signal it resells Bombora topics to all platform customers as part of subscription, includes G2 intent topics, and partners with TechTarget and TrustRadius. It claims intent tracking in more than 40 languages and ten times the coverage of other providers, and supports a bring your own data model for competitor signals. It was named in the Forrester Wave for Intent Data Providers for B2B in the first quarter of 2025.
Where it falls short: Sales Intelligence inside HubSpot requires the Predictive package, so the HubSpot facing capability many teams are buying for is not in the base licence. The renewal increases reported by procurement platforms are the largest in this comparison. And the coverage claims of ten times other providers and 40 plus languages are vendor claims that we have not independently verified.
Verdict: the most capable platform here and the hardest to justify below enterprise scale. Buy it for the predictive stage model, and confirm the Predictive package is in scope before signing.
4. Warmly
Layer: website visitor deanonymisation with signal add ons, now inside HubSpot
Best for: HubSpot teams whose highest value intent is their own website traffic rather than third party research.
Warmly belongs here for a reason specific to HubSpot: it was acquired by HubSpot. For a team standardising on HubSpot, a first party owned visitor identification layer is a materially different proposition from a third party connector, and the ownership change is the single most relevant fact in evaluating it.
The product deanonymises website visitors and adds chat and inbound automation on top. The signal type is different from Bombora and 6sense: this is your own traffic, which is the highest intent and lowest volume signal a company has.
Pricing: published on the vendor site and read in August 2026. AI Web Deanonymization is $10,000 per year, Inbound Chat $20,000 per year and AI Inbound Autopilot $30,000 per year, each starting from 10,000 credits per month, with quarterly billing at $4,875, $6,500 and $9,750 respectively. The GTM Signals Package is a separate $10,000 per year add on and Warm Experiences another $10,000 per year.
Where it falls short: the pricing structure is the catch. Signals are an add on rather than part of the base product, so adding the GTM Signals Package to the entry tier doubles the annual cost from $10,000 to $20,000. Read the tier boundaries carefully against what you actually need, because the entry tier alone is visitor identification without the surrounding signal set.
Verdict: worth evaluating specifically because of the HubSpot ownership, and worth pricing carefully because the add on structure changes the number substantially.
Object mapping compared
HubSpot's native intent needs no mapping at all, which is its structural advantage. The signal is a property on the company record and a workflow reads it directly. Adding a net new company from the Visitors or Research tab is a one time credit charge, which is the only mapping decision you make.
Bombora's native integration writes topic surge data against accounts for list building. The mapping question is account matching quality: topic data arrives against a domain, and domains that do not resolve to an existing HubSpot company either create duplicates or go nowhere. Audit your company records for duplicate domains before you connect anything.
6sense syncs HubSpot marketing automation data into 6sense and layers insight back onto existing accounts, using two HubSpot apps. That direction matters. It enriches accounts you already have rather than being primarily a source of new ones, so its value scales with the quality of your existing HubSpot company data.
Warmly identifies visitors, which means the object being created or matched is driven by your own web traffic rather than an external list.
Workflows and routing
Once the signal is a property, HubSpot workflows do the rest, and this is where native wins on speed of implementation. A company property change can create a task, assign an owner, add to a list, enrol in a sequence or notify a channel with no middleware.
The design decision that matters more than the tool is the threshold. An intent programme that alerts on every surging account trains reps to ignore alerts. Set a threshold that produces a volume a rep can actually work, which in practice usually means the top few percent of accounts, and review it monthly against outcomes rather than against signal volume.
Routing and meeting scheduling are a separate layer and worth treating as such, because the handoff from signal to booked conversation is where most of the leakage happens.
Signal exports and reverse flows
Ask every vendor two questions. Can I get the raw signal out, and what happens to it if I leave.
Bombora's data is a co-op product and is licensed, not owned, and it is resold through several platforms, so exporting it into a warehouse for permanent use is a contractual question rather than a technical one. 6sense supports a bring your own data model for competitor signals, which tells you the platform expects data to move both ways. HubSpot's native intent is inside your own CRM already, which is the cleanest position on this question, though the tracking itself stops when the credits stop.
The practical rule is to keep your own record of which account was surging when and what you did about it, in your own warehouse or at minimum as HubSpot properties with timestamps. Vendors change, and the historical record of what signal preceded which won deal is the asset that makes the next purchase decision evidence based.
Total platform dependencies
This is the section that decides most HubSpot intent programmes, because the licence is rarely the whole cost.
With HubSpot native, the dependency is credits and your Hub tier. Every Pro and Enterprise seat based Hub subscription includes a monthly credit package, so the marginal cost is capacity packs when you track more companies. HubSpot has standardised on this hybrid model of seats plus credits since Breeze Customer Agent moved onto credits on 2 June 2025, and it now underpins Breeze Intelligence, buyer intent and the agent products.
With Warmly, the dependency is the add on structure, where the GTM Signals Package at $10,000 per year doubles the cost of the $10,000 entry tier.
One further consideration for HubSpot teams: HubSpot also ships answer engine optimisation tooling in beta and an Agent Hub, which means the platform is expanding into adjacent territory. Buying a dedicated tool for something HubSpot ships natively next quarter is a real risk in this ecosystem, and it is an argument for starting with native and buying specialists only against proven gaps.

FAQ: intent tools for HubSpot teams
Does HubSpot have its own intent data?
Yes. Buyer intent is a first party HubSpot capability billed through HubSpot Credits, where tracking a company is a monthly recurring credit charge and adding a net new company from the Visitors or Research tab is a one time charge. Signal appears as an intelligence view on the company record covering fit, visit activity, research behaviour and data hygiene.
What happened to Clearbit?
It became Breeze Intelligence. The standalone Clearbit API experience is gone, and the capability now ships inside HubSpot as enrichment with more than 40 attributes, able to enrich automatically as new contacts enter the database.
Is Bombora a native HubSpot integration?
Yes, Bombora publishes a native HubSpot integration positioned for building data driven target account lists. Note that Bombora data is also resold through other platforms, including inside 6sense subscriptions and through partners such as Terminus and Integrate, so check whether you are paying for the same data twice.
What does 6sense cost inside HubSpot?
Confirm the 6sense product entitlement, HubSpot prerequisites, data access and implementation scope together. A marketplace listing alone is not a current proposal for the complete workflow.
Which should I buy first?
HubSpot's native buyer intent and Breeze Intelligence, in almost every case. It activates without integration work, uses credits already included in Pro and Enterprise subscriptions, and gives you the evidence to specify what a specialist tool needs to add.
How do HubSpot Credits work for intent?
Credits are included in paid subscriptions with capacity packs available to buy more, and every Pro and Enterprise seat based Hub subscription includes a monthly credit package. Tracking companies is a recurring charge and adding net new companies is one time, with rates published in the HubSpot Product and Services Catalog. Cost therefore scales with how many companies you track.
